Shit Creek (whoops, my bad), Starvation Creek is located off of the scenic byway just past Multnomah Falls. I hadn't heard of it before, but decided to check out this short hike in January after the Clackamas River Trail fell through. The falls were pretty ok...they are tucked right off of the parking area beside a couple of picnic tables. Now for the interesting part, and for the reason behind my term of endearment...
Shit. Creek.
Now, I can completely understand why this little nook would be used "excessively" as a rest stop. It was literally the first thing I thought of when I tripped over the falls right by the parking area. It's a sweet spot to see a waterfall, maybe catch a snack with the fam, and then visit the loo before heading off towards Hood River or the mountain. Now, I'm glad they have the poop problem under control, but the lower area is sludgy so we did not partake. You tell me there is a poo situation and the ground looks like excrement, then we are not going anywhere near it. Oh, and there is a shooting range across the way, so on the short walk to the next parking lot which follows the road (that is the whole hike), Tupes had the crap scared out of her by gun shots reverberating off of the river.

I joke a lot. Starvation Creek was not bad. But it wasn't amazing either. The great thing about exploring the PNW is that you really can't have a terrible time or be completely unimpressed. I found some fungus. There was a super cool tree. The waterfall wound its way into 2 waterfalls. There was a bit of adventure when the derpy beagle side-kick almost walked herself off of a cliff. Oh, and did I mention the rock slides?
In summation. If you need to "go," stop here. Use the bathroom. See the waterfall. Get back in the car.
